IWF Atlanta 2010

I came back from the show last week. I had a great time, but I always have a great time at that show. I love walking through the isles searching for a new idea or product. It is one of the best times to purchase tools and machinery, because of the show specials. I bought my edge bander at the show 4 years ago. this year I bought some new software. I bought microvellum it was at 15% discount, it is the premier software used by the woodworking industry. It is designed to live over AutoCad which I already have. It has 3d capacity and keystroke 2 dimensional drawings and then it will write G code to run CNC machinery. I have high hopes and expectations on this software to greatly enhance my shop drawings. When I am able to buy a CNC I will already have knowledge of the software.

shutter being installed

after the shutters are glued up I am ready to fit them in there corresponding opening. It is best if I can do this on-site, that way I can assure that the gap is consistent between the shutter and the extension jamb. Here you can see my use of the plastic shims as spacers.
